Flat Frog Blog is a blog about emerging technology and design trends as they appear online and in real life.  My goal is to bring together some of the information that I find inspiring and useful.  Topics may include ecommerce, design, usability, marketing, and brain science.

About Erin Jo Richey

Currently, I am a user experience and marketing strategy consultant.  I’ve worked for ecommerce companies, startups, and marketing agencies, helping well-known retailers and small businesses to plan, execute, and test online marketing campaigns and to design and develop new site features.  I have a strong interest in helping companies measure and organize information.  My work has covered a number of projects related to web analytics, on-site search, content management, and personalized recommendation technology.

My specialty is working within ecommerce and emerging digital trends.  I create and manage interactive marketing strategies that mix paid advertising, online search, email marketing, and social media.  I also employ usability testing, user surveys, online testing, and competitive analysis to help companies better understand their market and the needs of their customers.  In addition to research and testing, I design new site features and site structures, frequently working in the areas of interaction design and information architecture.

I have a degree in cognitive science from Occidental College.  My research examined visual word recognition in the bilingual brain.  After working with Italian-English and Spanish-English speakers, I began applying the results to test computational models of word recognition.  I also had the opportunity to study literature, art history, environmental design, and dance.
